One of the many things that proves that Jesus was not an ordinary man is that His life did not end with His crucifixion. His life continued, and Luke 24 tells some of what happened after His death. The chapter reveals:
- Jesus rose from the dead and was victorious over death!
- Angels had announced Jesus’ birth and also announced that He had risen (vs. 5-6).
- He came back after His crucifixion and was seen by many.
- Jesus taught others, when He came back.
- Jesus had a different body, but He still remembered many things, talked, walked, and was able to discern others’ feelings.
- He still knew Scripture (vs. 27).
- He still prayed and thanked God (vs. 30).
- He must have appeared different. He had talked and spent time with several disciples; but they did not recognize who He was until their eyes were opened, and they were given understanding that it was Christ they had been talking with (vs. 31).
- He just appeared amongst people. In several other places in the Bible, Jesus appeared in the midst of people without going through doors (vs. 36).
- Jesus still had the marks of His crucifixion (vs. 39).
- He was seen ascending back to Heaven (vs. 51).
Unfortunately there are many false religions and their originators that have claimed to have done many supernatural things. None, however, can claim to have done what God’s only Son has done. Jesus arose from the grave! He is risen!

Bro Brinkworth,
My pastor preached a message recently, “I believe in the deity of Jesus”. In it he made the case that Jesus was all God and all Man. Solid doctrinal preaching to me.
Later, he and I had a personal conversation about that message and he said The Lord put it on his heart to combat the thinking among our people that Jesus was JUST a man, not deity. I was floored! I had never heard anyone inside the Christian world even talk about such a thing. I hope I am not catching your dear readers off guard here, but apparently that is a thing now and that heresy is planted and alive. I thought it might be somewhere else, but he shared that it was a view held by people I knew. It is puzzling…..
Have you heard of this?
No, I have not. You used the right word; “heresy”.
I cannot do the reasoning that is used to justify that thinking any good in a couple of paragraphs. Suffice to say two things are evident:
1. The scripture from 2 Timothy describes that thinking “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Apparently, this is prevalent in our institutions of higher learning, seminaries and such among folks that think too much.
2. By definition, you are not saved according to my KJV bible if you cannot get hold of the fact that Jesus came to earth as fully God and fully man and shed his blood for the remission of your sins…..so whatever you have to say on the subject is of little reliability anyway as there is no way the Holy Ghost is speaking to you about such a fundamental matter of doctrine if you aren’t even saved.
Sad, with all the lost people and undiscipled people in the world, they would spend their time on such tripe as this.
•Jesus had a different body, but He still remembered many things, talked, walked, and was able to discern others’ feelings.
He still remembered many things ? I would think he knew all and has nothing to do with just remembering as Jesus is God’s son so he knows all .
You are right. My intent was to prove that many things many abilities we have in this life, continue in the next.
