Of all the childhood games I have played, tag was my favorite. One youngster would, with eyes closed, count as the others scrambled to their hiding places.
As the count was finished, the hunt would begin. Trees, behind rocks, everywhere was searched. If you were sighted, you would run away as quickly as possible, or run to the “base.” The “base,” a designated tree or building, was a place that no matter how frenzied the chase around you, as long as you were there, you were safe. No harm could come to you, as long as you were on base.
Life, however, is not a game. There are no places to hide when tribulations occur. Many people try different places to run to when the troubles come, but usually they only stall dealing with the problem. They will, one day, have to face what they were running from.
For the Christian there is hope during hard times. The Lord promises to be our “base” in time of need. In Psalms 32:7, David writes, “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance …”
What an assurance it is to know, when there is nowhere else to turn, that we can turn to the Lord. He has raised millions upon millions of children. There are no tribulations that can happen to man that God does not know about, has not handled in the past, or cannot control.
The Lord is the safe place for the Christian to go to in time of need. Trust Him and allow him to work in your life, including the hard times.

Wonderful, what a blog it is! This webpage presents useful information to us, keep it up.

work.
I love it when folks come together and share opinions, great blog,
keep it up.
will read the broken later read some of it though . If I recall in the Bible maybe in Is. is that God makes thee weak strong .
True about walking not running so one wonders if someone is going to attack us what should one do walk or run ?
Amen! One thing I’ve learned when going through trouble times is to try to walk with Jesus through it! When troubles or hardships come our way, we have a tendency to run through it! Get it over with as fast as we can!
But just like our teacher in school use to tell us when she caught us running, “Turn around and go back and walk” (it was to teach us a lesson), we need to walk with Jesus so we too can learn a lesson! You’ll never learn anything running! David said, “Yea, thou I WALK through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
I like that. “Turn around and walk.” (There’s an article in there somewhere :>) )
Brothers,
Being broken before the Lord is under rated. None of us would choose it, never the less it is a tool he uses to shape us. Of course you all are learned men and could recite chapter and verse forever on this.
I read a great piece along the same theme the other day. I thought you all might enjoy it.

David, that was a good devotion on brokenness! Between that devotion and Bro. Bill’s devotion, I feel like I’ve been to church this morning!
