There are thousands of changes in all of the different translations and versions. The re-writers and translators have changed considerably what God has preserved for the English-speaking people in the King James Version (The modern translations have also perverted His truths in Bibles in other languages). Here are only a few of the alterations to give an idea as to how man has changed what God had said!
New versions remove verses. Most add words.
King James (KJV): “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” Acts 8:37
New International Version (NIV): Verse removed
New American Standard Version (NASB): Verse removed.
New World Translation (NWT – Jehovah Witness Bible): Verse removed.
Revised Standard Version (RSV): Verse removed.
New Century Version (NCV): Verse removed
English Standard Version (ESV): Verse removed
These re-writers did away with the biblical teaching of baptism!
In the NIV, some other verses that are completely missing are: Mat. 12:47, Mat. 17:21, Mat. 18:11, Mat. 23:14, Mark 7:16, Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46, Mark 11:26, Mark 15:28, Luke 17:36, Luke 23:17, John 5:4, Acts 8:37, Acts 24:7, Acts 28:29, I John 5:7.
Word counts of some modern versions. Just the fact that there are different amounts of words in the modern versions should make one suspicious of their content.
The King James Bible (KJV): 783,137* words
New King James Bible (NKJV): 770,430* words
The New International Bible (NIV): 727, 969* (another source counts: 726,109 ).
English Standard Version (ESV): 757,439* words
New American Standard Bible (NASB): 782,815* words
* Different sources have reported different word counts. Their numbers may not be totally accurate, but if they were all counted by the same method, it clearly illustrates that there are grave differences in the version’s content!
(KJV): “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Rev. 22:19
The Amplified Bible: “And if any one cancels or takes away from the statements of the book of this prophecy — these predictions relating to Christ’s kingdom and its speedy triumph, together with the consolations and admonitions (warnings) pertaining to them — God will cancel and take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the city of holiness (pure and hallowed) which are described and promised in this book.” — wheeww! They are certainly changing words in direct violation of God’s commandments.
New versions change truths about the Saviour, Jesus:
(KJV) “And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.” Mat, 1:25
American Standard Version (ASV) “and knew her not till she had brought forth a son: and he called his name JESUS.”
(RSV) “but knew her not until she had borne a son; and he called his name Jesus.”
(NIV) “But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.”
(NWT) “But he had no intercourse with her until she gave birth to a son; and he called his name Jesus.”
These versions, and others, remove wording indicating that Jesus was Mary’s first born son. She did have other children. The facts are altered.
(KJV) “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” Mat. 18:11
(NASB) This verse is footnoted and implies that it should not be there.
(NIV) Verse removed.
(NWT) Verse removed.
(NCV) Verse removed.
The important reason for Jesus Christ’s coming has been deleted! The way of salvation is removed!
(KJV) “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.” I Cor. 1:18
(NIV) “… who are being saved …”
(Daily Study Bible for Women) “… we who are being saved …”
(English Standard Version) “… who are being saved …”
(NKJV) “…who are being saved: “
(RSV) “…who are being saved …”
(NWT) “…who are being saved …”
(NCV) “…who are being saved …”
Many of the other versions indicate that a person is constantly working to be saved. The Bible teaches that when a person is saved, he is always saved and cannot lose his salvation. These changes are changing what Jesus has done for us.
(KJV) “The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;” Deut. 18:15
Deuteronomy 18:15 is prophetic about the Messiah. Many versions change the upper case “P” in “prophet” to lower case. Upper case refers to a proper noun — a specific person. References to God are always capitalized. When the “P” is changed to lower case, it is stating it that it is just a man and not a specific, divine person. They are not saying it is the Son of God. They are saying that the Messiah is not God! The perversions that change this important revelation include the: ASV, RSV, Confraternity Edition (Catholic bible), New Century, New World Translation, and NIV.

Translation ? Truth is a constant ! Can’t be changed no mater how you write it down .
Saved or being saved , we are saved and daily a work in progress .
Constant , is we are saved yes ?
Variable is daily being changed into his image ?
I don’t want to be deceived and God know your heart .
I am going to have to get one of those old 1611 KJV’s it would be interesting. I have read excerpts, but never tried to read from it.
Again, many thanks to Bro Bill for compiling this. Very needful in this time. I find that people /churches are solidly dividing on this… Those that care not what they consume; they are using anything and everything in their churches. They have no conviction and no caution whatsoever in it.
Then there are those that have stood on the KJV as THE bible and they are not compromising.
I feel sure folks still make it to heaven using these other versions, but I am not willing to concede this very important ground to the enemy. The Word, the written Word of God, is paramount to ours and future generations understanding of God and our relationship with him. We must drive a stake in the ground and say “no more” , “This is our standard, this is what we live by, no other”.
I have photocopies of most older version. Let me see if I can e-mail the 1611 to you. Also, reprints of 1611’s are available in many Christian bookstores.

I’m thankful that we have a Bible that we can trust and know that it is 100 % accurate. Praise the Lord for the King James Bible.
Amen! It is one of the most important issues of Christendom. Without the proper, strong foundation a ministry will flounder and fall. That is why so many strong denominations of 100 years ago, are not liberal hotbeds and Ichabod is stamped above their door lintels. If you track their demise you will find they started used perverted versions in the early 1900’s.
Most people I tell to use only the KJV will almost every time say to me, “What does it matter? As long as their reading the Bible”!
Problem is though, if their not using the KJV, then their not reading the Bible! Their reading a perverted text of another’s interpretation!

I have an older copy of Strong’s and it contains a key word comparison that is missing in the newer editions. I guess when the publishers decided to expand their business to other, less reliable, versions the comparison had to go. Change in these times seems to seldom bring improvement. Blessings N.

Okay I have said there are some differences in the KJV and the 1611 and I am not referring to spelling but puncatation so this does matter at times I think . below you will see as I commented on the differences in the verses as I copied the verses you posted then went to the 1611 KJV and copied each verse then I wrote besides the 1611 ones of the difference in both verses ..

okay this is what the 1611 under the verses of the KJV shows compared to the KJV now that we have just showing some differences in puncatation .
I appreciate your diligence in researching those verses.
Remember, that at the time the 1611 was produced written English was less than 200 years old. French and Latin were the preferred languages. English was used by the common man and was not “evolved” to what we use today. That is why it took four edits to get it to the English we use today (the 1769 edition). The punctuation was made consistent by the 4th edit. Again, all the revisions (4) only involved about 400 changes, which is not bad for all those years. If you look you will also see capitalization that is not compliant with today’s rules. That does not make it a inferior text, it is just older and rules change, as they do in many languages.

Given the prominent use of English in the world today, Doesn’t it look like God’s plan to have the Bible translated into English? If so, He knew down the road that english would replace those other languages and come into commonplace use. Can you comment on that?
The key is that the Masoretic and Textus Receptus are the correct roots to be used for a translation. These roots were used in Greek, Hebrew, English, Spanish, French translations, and three other languages which I have forgotten. Its all about the original text a version is translated from. Mpst others use the Vaticanus, Sinaticus, and Latin texts.
If you are a Sunday School teacher, Bro Bill has given you your lessons for the next month these next few days! If you are in a church that does not hold to or use the KJV, pray about it, re introduce it. Pray for God to give you opportunities to teach and talk about this material.
