The Bible has long been known to be the Word of God. It has proved itself true spiritually, historically, mathematically, prophetically, and scientifically.
Many of today’s scientific claims, facts, and truths were declared and recorded in the Bible thousands of years before man had “discovered” them. The only way those things could have been known ahead of modern discovery and recorded in the Bible is that they were revealed by God and preserved for us in His Word.
Here are a few of the hundreds of examples found in the pages of Scripture:
- The earth is round:
“It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth . . .” Isaiah 40:22.
Here, about 712 B. C. and more than 2,200 years before Christopher Columbus established it as modern scientific fact, the Bible stated that the Earth was a circle, or round. As there were no satellites or means of viewing the earth from above, the only way Isaiah could have known this fact is that he got the truth from the Creator. - Existence of dinosaurs and man cohabiting with them.
“Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox … He moveth his tail like a cedar: … His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron …” Job 40:15-24
Approximately 1520 B. C., Job described in detail an animal that was larger than any seen today. Clearly, it is a description of a large dinosaur. It was not until 1824 that William Buckland documented one of the first dinosaurs, and it was not until the 1900’s that fossilized dinosaur and human footprints were found together in Glen Rose, Texas and in Africa. In addition, an 1186 A.D. carving on a Cambodian Temple is another evidence the artist saw a stegosaurus, and that dinosaurs were alive when man was on the earth. - Life is in the blood.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood …” Leviticus 17:11.
William Harvey, in 1616, is attributed with discovering that blood circulation is most important for life. The verse in Leviticus was written over 3,000 years before Harvey’s discovery. - Eating fat is unhealthy.
“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Ye shall eat no manner of fat, of ox, or of sheep, or of goat.” Lev. 7:23.
Written 1490 B. C., it was far in advance of the modern research that eating fat is not healthy. - Man lived in caves. “They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;) To dwell in the cliffs of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks.” Job 30:5-6
This verse is believed to have been written about 1520 B. C., but it was not proven until around 1879, after paintings found in Spanish caves, proved that man lived in caves. - Stars are different. “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.” I Corinthians 15:41
This statement was made about 57 A. D., but the telescope was not invented by Hans Lipperhey until 1608, who was able to prove that stars were different from one another. - Water in outer space. “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” Genesis 1:7
Attributed to be written more than 4,000 years B.C., this statement was written in advance of the CNN statement of December 3, 1996 that “ice most likely exists at the moon’s sun-deprived south pole”. It also precedes NASA’s 2000 announcement that they found evidence of water on Mars. - The Bible is ahead of modern day discoveries in archaeology. Many times archaeologists use the descriptions in the Bible to find lost and forgotten cities. One could easily spend a busy month in Israel where a tour guide would point out cities, buildings, and artifacts that were mentioned in the Bible before they were even known to exist.
The Bible is scientifically accurate because its author was the Creator of all that we examine and wish to learn about. Kings, prophets, men, and rulers recorded exactly what God wanted us to know. about science and other facts.
We have a copy of His truths in our King James Bible for English speaking people. It is a trustworthy source for answers to most of man’s questions. If the Bible says it, one can trust that it is true!

Well the microwave is not a good thing it changes the molcules of the food and kills good bacteria in the food take water for example one can take 2 plants of the same kind of plant water one that has the water microwaved and cooled before using water the other even with city water and within a week the plant watered with the microwaved water dies . try it so i think that is from the devil not Father .
So we are nto from cave men eh ah ha now speaking of the people living in caves and dinosaurs so this is all true oh i knew dinosaurs were true but everyone claims cave men are not and it is so hence all the drawings in the caves and yes they clothed themselves with furs . As coming from monkeys no because if we did there would not be any here today .
As for fat i think it is better for us than the bad oils they make today .
I have heard a little of that microwave stuff… I will have to look into it. Several ladies I know will not own one.
Bro Brinkworth,
My undergraduate and graduate degrees are in the sciences and I have observed that God gives men revelation in science just as he does spiritually. It also appears that God often gives these “advancements” to us in a timely manner when there is both need and an ability to handle it. Like all good things, some of these “discoveries” are consequently perverted and used for evil.
Alexander Fleming was working on something completely different in 1928 when he or someone in his lab noticed that bacterial colonies would not grow near some of the mold on the agar in some petri dishes in the lab that had been neglected. Curious, they tested the properties of the mold and eventually developed Penicillin, the first antibiotic drug. It is still in use today. The folks in that lab were simply observant to what God was revealing to them and used the intellect and ability God had given them to take the next step.
In 1945 Perry Spencer, an engineer working for Raytheon, accidentally discovered that directed radar waves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Curious, he tried an egg, which exploded in their faces. Taking the next step he harnessed the power of the magnetron he was working on in small cabinet, hence the modern microwave oven was born. Since he and his coworkers were working on radar as an application in aircraft, this discovery was completely an accident, but one that was used for good.
We can find God in many of these stories, many might be a stretch. It is exciting to see the timing with which God gives these revelations. In 1798 Thomas Malthus theorized that we would overpopulate the planet and go beyond it’s capacity to carry any more human life within a few decades of his writing. Advances in agriculture so far have outpaced and outprovided our needs. Somehow God keeps one step ahead of us and provides for us here. I have no reason to believe that he will not continue to do so until he returns.
Your last statement about, “Somehow God keeps one step ahead of us and provides for us here.” is one statement that the save-the-planet crowd have not grasped. God created this world for Him and us. He didn’t make a mistake or miscaluculate. We do need to be wise stewards of the earth, but he has given us just enough. We need to trust His judgment, and fearing that we need to do what HE cannot do.
Brother, I tell my kids that God gave us dominion. That doesn’t mean mistreat or misuse, but it also doesn’t mean I need to put up with foxes in my chicken house either. The planet is here for us to use.
If you take an animal for domestic use or a pet, you take responsibility for feed, water, and care and decent treatment.
I refuse to get caught up in the global warming hand wringing. The truth is that man has been wrong so many times about so many things, it is hard to trust anyone about it. So called “settled scientific theories are changed as our understanding of the science changes, there is no such thing as fixed truth in science. Remember the hole in the ozone layer? Remember the Y2K scare? The running out of oil scare? I spoke above about Thomas Malthus and the overpopulation crowd…that rears its head every few decades. I could go on.
I choose to trust God. I will work and be wise as he gives me grace in the natural and trust him for the supernatural. Worst case scenario…I spend eternity in Heaven.
Amen …. by the way the Y2K was not a false scare. I had a programming company at the time, and there were legitimate problems that if they weren’t fixed, things would have gotten interesting very quick. Thank a programmer for not having problems then. :>)
yes sir, roger that. I guess I was stuck in small applications…small local banks and such that were implementing and spending on fixes. I can’t remember any problems among them.
Thanks for giving me that perspective.
