Daily Nugget:
The children of Israel were excited to return to Jerusalem (Psalm126:1). Instead of misery and what seemed to be endless waiting, their prayers were answered. They were joyous (Psalm 126:2). God’s people were back in the land where they longed to be only because of God’s intervention (Psalm 126:3-4).

All the happiness they experienced did not come overnight. For many years, countless prayers were offered to God to receive that for which they longed. Many tears and broken, sincere hearts bombarded the throne room of God for what they were now enjoying. In God’s timing, they reaped from the prayers, patience, and trust they put in Him.
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126:5-6

Life can be rough. I cannot imagine getting through its speed bumps and ruts that happen along the way without God’s help and protection. When faced with trials, most Christians offer supplications unto the Lord.

Often, the requests are not answered right away. Sometimes, there needs to be changes in the prayer’s life or in the troublesome situation before God intervenes. At times, God’s answer may be, “Wait, it’s not time yet,” or “No, it’s not what I have for you.” Praise the Lord for the clear answers, but whatever His answer, He knows best.

Whatever the prayer outcome, you will get answers. Although you may not like His response, trust that God knows better than you. What you desire may harm you more than help. Be patient and willing to accept the open or closed doors when God works in your life.
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

Today’s Thought:
“Lord, help me eat more heartedly at your table, and more sparingly at mine!” — Author Unknown

Words to Understand:
Zion: Jerusalem

Today’s Reading:
Psalm 126
1 A Song of degrees. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.
3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.
4 ¶ Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

  1. I read in Lamentations this morning and two verses jumped out at me. It fills my heart with joy to know how good God is to me.
verse 22) It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
verse 23) They are new every morning, great is thy faithfulness.

Every morning is a new day, that is so wonderful!

  2. Amen! Thanks for sharing that. I like to hear other peoples blessing that God gave them that day.
