\nDavid’s prayer was not just words with no feeling and meaning. He opened his heart and poured out his soul to his God \u2014 Psalm 25:1.<\/li>\n\n\n\n His trust was in God\u2019s help. He put his faith on the line because if God did not answer his pleas, he would look foolish to his enemies and those watching his testimony \u2014 Psalm 25:3-4, 20.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He was willing to follow God\u2019s direction if He made it clear to the leader \u2014 Psalm 25:4-5, 15.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He remembered he did not get what he deserved for his mistakes and sins and wanted God to remember His past mercy to the king. He was hoping for more undeserved kindness \u2014 Psalm 25:6.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He trusted his merciful God to overlook his sins \u2014 Psalm 25:7, 11, 16, 18.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He was grateful for God\u2019s goodness and righteousness \u2014 Psalm 25:8.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He was often meek and did not do what the flesh wanted but did what the Lord would have him do. He knew God had not forgotten his actions in those situations \u2014 Psalm 25:9-10, 21.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He respected God and trusted Him to teach him His ways \u2014 Psalm 25:12-14.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He wanted God\u2019s comfort in the situations that troubled him \u2014 Psalm 25:17, 19-20.<\/li>\n\n\n\n He relied on God to help his nation \u2014 Psalm 25:22.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nAlthough most of these pleas were for King David\u2019s needs, we have similar troubles and necessities. It would help our relationship with the Lord and strengthen our faith if we, too, cried out for the Lord\u2019s help and understanding, as did Israel\u2019s king.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
