Daily Nugget:<\/strong>The purpose of good godly music is to glorify God, not the singer or the flesh, as so many modern Christian songs do today.\u00a0This ancient Hebrew hymn in Psalm 8 does just that; it glorifies God.<\/p>\n\n\n\nPsalm 8 puts many of God\u2019s accomplishments to music in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\nVerse 1, 9: God has done more than any man has ever done.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 1: He has made beautiful Heaven higher than our skies.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 2: God has protected His own.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 3: God has made the celestial bodies.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 4: Yet with all God has made, he has put man, that He also created, of great importance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nGod has:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\nVerse 4: Allowed His son to come to this Earth for a great purpose.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 5: Although man is not as important as angels, God has given him great responsibilities and respect.<\/li>\n\n\n\nVerse 6-8: God has put man in charge of His earthly creation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nToday\u2019s Thought: <\/strong>\u201cThe difference between God and man is God gives, gives, gives, and forgives, while man gets, gets, gets, but still forgets.\u201d \u2014 Author Unknown<\/p>\n\n\n\nWords to Understand:<\/strong>Excellent: recognized for all outstanding accomplishments of great valueGittith: a musical instrument played in Gath or an indication that this hymn should be sung to the tune of another popular songGlory: outstanding beautyOrdained: set down together, established<\/p>\n\n\n\nToday\u2019s Reading:<\/strong>Psalm 81 To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.
