\u201cO ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.\u201d Psalm 4:2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nAs vocal and vicious as those opposing his ideas and victories were, David had a way to battle their accusations and attacks. The king knew, no matter what distress he was facing, none was anything God could not defeat, and the way to summon God\u2019s help was prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was clear to the leader that He was set apart for God\u2019s use. The Lord\u2019s help and mercy would allow him to accomplish God\u2019s will. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As devious and deceptive as the enemy\u2019s attacks may have been, David knew that God\u2019s working on his behalf would be a sight for onlookers.\u00a0He understood that one should not be fearful of any assault. People would look at God\u2019s intervention with awe and amazement when all was said and done.\u00a0God certainly would get the glory for protecting His own.\u201cStand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.\u201dPsalm 4:4<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nToday is not much different than David\u2019s day.\u00a0The righteous will often face opposition from the godless crowd. The defense is always to go to God in prayer.\u00a0He will protect and deliver His own.
