Your most valuable asset is your name&#8217;s value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When your name is uttered, what memory does it bring to the hearers\u2019 ears? Do they first remember, \u201cOh, he has lied in the past, so chances are what he says may not be true?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you are mentioned, do they giggle and remember all the foolish things you have done, and refuse to take anything you do seriously because of your past? Does the label \u201cadulterer\u201d flash through their minds when you are mentioned because of sinful behavior in the past?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you branded as a cheat forever because of being dishonest in class many years ago? When \u201chard worker\u201d is mentioned, is your name the first they think of? Are you always remembered positively because of your concern and care for others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What we do or say usually leaves a lasting impression on people\u2019s minds of who they think we are and what they think of us and our character. It is an impression that is difficult to change or erase from memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When our name is mentioned, others\u2019 opinions and thoughts have much to do with who we are and who we will be. The value others put on our name often dictates how we will be treated.&nbsp;It may affect job placement or even who will marry us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most of the references in the Bible using \u201cname\u201d have to do with God\u2019s name. His name stands for justice, truth, and faithfulness.&nbsp;He is the one who can do the \u201cimpossible\u201d and the one to go to in times of need. Throughout the Bible, His name has earned others\u2019 respect.<br><em>\u201cO LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!\u201d Psalms 8:9 <\/em> Also: Psalms 8:1, Psalms 29:2, Psalms 102:15, Isaiah 9:6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible has something to say about the value our name can have. Here is some of what the Bible says our name can mean to others:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Bible says the reputation your name brings is of great value.<br><em>\u201cA good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.\u201d Proverbs 22:1<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do good and do the right thing, and your name will be a positive testimony to many. Do wrong, and your name will be forgotten, or it will not be a pleasant memory to those who know you. If your name has a negative connotation, it is usually no one\u2019s fault but your own.<br><em>\u201cThe memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.\u201d Proverbs 10:7<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ointment may be fragrant and smell good to many, but it will not affect as many as one\u2019s good reputation. The loss of a person with a good name will be a great tragedy to those touched by his life.<br><em>\u201cA good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one&#8217;s birth.\u201d Ecclesiastes 7:1<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>God will not honor the reputation of those who did not honor Him.<br><em>\u201cThou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.\u201d Psalms 9:5<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Those who love God will have a good reputation for doing so.<br><em>\u201cBut if any man love God, the same is known of him.\u201d I Corinthians 8:3<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our lives impact many. What impression did you leave on others\u2019 minds when interacting with them?
