{"id":1220,"date":"2020-03-03T11:08:43","date_gmt":"2020-03-03T11:08:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/?p=1220"},"modified":"2025-08-27T09:08:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T09:08:12","slug":"daily-devotion-of-proverbs-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/proverbs\/daily-devotion-of-proverbs-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Devotion in Proverbs 12"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/Prov-Hd-Color-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Artwork from 1611 KJV<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/Prov12.mp3\"><\/audio><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>HEAR the devotion and KJV chapter.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Daily Nugget:<\/strong><br>Proverbs 12 continues a style that started in Proverbs 11.&nbsp;In each verse\u2019s wisdom, an excellent moral trait or action is mentioned, as well as the positive result of that behavior.&nbsp;The same verse reveals the consequences and effects when godly wisdom or morality is not exercised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This chapter would be ideal for putting in a two-column chart.&nbsp;The \u201cgood\u201d results of wisdom and positive character behavior found in each verse would be in one column.&nbsp;The other column could contain the consequence when righteous wisdom is not followed in the same verse.&nbsp;It would be a great comparison of biblical morality versus godless behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Examine some of the results of wise, godly thinking and a righteous lifestyle found in this chapter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Love of knowledge (Proverbs 12:1, 15).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Favored by the Lord (Proverbs 12:2, 22).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steadfastness (Proverbs 12:3, 7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Will be a blessing to their spouse (Proverbs 12:4).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Righteous thinking (Proverbs 12:5).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help others (Proverbs 12:6).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition as being wise (Proverbs 12:8).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prosperous (Proverbs 12:9, 12).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kind to all, even to animals (Proverbs 12:10, 18).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hard-working and not lazy (Proverbs 12:11, 27).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discerning (Proverbs 12:13).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Honesty (Proverbs 12:14,17, 19).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sensible (Proverbs 12:16, 23).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Joy (Proverbs 12:20, 25).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protected (Proverbs 12:21).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responsible and can be trusted (Proverbs 12:24).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognized as a good person (Proverbs 12:26).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To most, reading the above benefits would sell the positiveness of reading the Bible, obeying God\u2019s commandments, and receiving godly wisdom.&nbsp;Sadly, however, much of the list would be seen negatively and not achievable because insight and knowledge are foreign to so many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No matter what others think, God\u2019s way is best.&nbsp;Follow His commandments, and your life will differ from most.&nbsp;However, it will have benefits and blessings that the unwise will never experience.ents, and your life will differ from most.\u00a0However, it will have benefits and blessings that the unwise will never experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Today\u2019s Thought:&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\u201cTake fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.\u201d Proverbs 4:13<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Words to Understand:<\/strong><br>Brutish: not showing sensibility; behaves like an animal<br>Despised: disliked;
