We would not have anything if it were not for His generosity!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He is our fortress.\u00a0Like biblical forts, God is a protector of all within His family \u2014 the family of God.\u00a0No one can get through God\u2019s mighty fortification unless, for His reasons, He allows them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He is our high tower.\u00a0Many fortresses had at least one tall building in them.\u00a0One could see far-away troubles or enemies from a perch inside a high watchtower.\u00a0Our God sees in advance what dangers are headed our way.\u00a0Nothing that can happen to us is a surprise to Him.\u00a0He sees our future and protects His own from the perils that are to come.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He is our deliverer.\u00a0He can get us out of the troubles we find ourselves facing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He is our shield. This protection, used in battle, keeps a warrior safe.\u00a0The protecting God will reflect whatever is hurled at the Christian soldier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He can be trusted.\u00a0When all fail our expectations, God is the one who will always be there for us.\u00a0He promises never to leave or forsake His own.<br><em>\u201cI have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.\u201d Psalm 37:25<\/em>\u00a0 Also: Heb. 13:5.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>He can overcome (\u201csubdueth\u201d) all that wish us harm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Rehearsing all that God can be to those faithful and obedient to Him should remove much fear one may have.\u00a0Our God-given securities should encourage those trusting in Him. Nothing can harm God\u2019s own unless He allows it.\u00a0In those cases, it is best for the person at that time.<br><em>\u201cThe LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.\u201d Psalm 18:2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Thought:<\/strong><br>A Mighty Fortress Is Our God<br><em>Hymn by Martin Luther<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing<br>Our Helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing<br>For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe<br>His craft and pow\u2019r are great, and, armed with cruel hate<br>On earth is not his equal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing<br>Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God\u2019s own choosing<br>Dost ask who that may be?
