{"id":1115,"date":"2019-12-11T11:03:48","date_gmt":"2019-12-11T11:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/?p=1115"},"modified":"2025-07-05T09:16:57","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T09:16:57","slug":"daily-devotion-of-psalm-125","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/psalm\/daily-devotion-of-psalm-125\/","title":{"rendered":"Daily Devotion in Psalm 125"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/Psalms-539x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:450px;height:200px\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Artwork from a 1611 KJV<\/em><gwmw style=\"display:none;\"><\/gwmw><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"http:\/\/www.devotionsfromthebible.com\/dvblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Psalm125.mp3\"><\/audio><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>HEAR the devotion and KJV chapter.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Daily Nugget:<\/strong><br><em>\u201cAs the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the LORD is round about his people from henceforth even for ever.\u201d Psalm 125:2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the pilgrims journeyed to Jerusalem, they sang many hymns.&nbsp;Psalm 125 was sung as a reminder that wherever His people were, they were forever surrounded by God\u2019s protective hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s Christians can also have the same comfort and security.&nbsp;Wherever the believer goes, God is nearby.&nbsp;In theology, this doctrine is recognized as \u201comnipresence.\u201d This teaching is that God is everywhere at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although God\u2019s omnipresence is taught in the Old Testament, verses in the New Testament show how God\u2019s ability still applies to today\u2019s believers.&nbsp;We read that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God promised never to leave His own.\u00a0To always be with believers, God must be where we are, and we are at different places all over the globe.<br><em>\u201cLet your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.\u201d Heb. 13:5<br>\u201cThat they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.\u201d Acts 17:27<br>\u201cOne God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.\u201d Eph. 4:6<br>\u201cNeither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.\u201d Heb. 4:13<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>God promises to be with groups as little as two if they are assembled in His name, as Christians are.\u00a0To be with small groups and with individuals shows God is in many places simultaneously.<br><em>\u201cAgain I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.\u00a020 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.\u201d Mat. 18:19-20<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>God promises to be with His own even when the last dispensation [how God deals with people at a particular time of history] on this Earth occurs.<br><em>\u201cTeaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.\u201d Mat. 28:20<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The believer is never alone!&nbsp;One cannot hide from God nor be hidden from His watchful eye.&nbsp;How safe we are under God\u2019s omnipresent gaze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Thought:<\/strong><br>\u201cI heard the story of a man, a blasphemer, profane, and an atheist who was converted singularly by a sinful action of his.\u00a0He had written on a paper, &#8220;God is nowhere,&#8221; and ordered his child to read it, for he would make him an atheist too.\u00a0The child read, &#8220;God is nowhere as \u2018God is now here.\u2019&#8221; It was a truth instead of a lie, and the arrow pierced the man&#8217;s own heart, and soon, he was saved.\u201d\u00a0\u2014 Spurgeon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Reading:<\/strong><br><em>Psalm 125<br>1 A Song of degrees.
