However, it was not the hills that helped them in their time of need (Psalm 121:1). It was God on the other side of the hilly terrain that was their benefactor.\u00a0It was He they were eager to be near.\u00a0It was the great God and Creator who was their help.<br><em>\u201cMy help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.\u201d Psalm 121:2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God had proven Himself worthy to be repeatedly relied upon. They experienced that God:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Would lead them in the right direction. God would always guide them how He desired them to live, experience, and serve (Psalm 121:3).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Never slept and was always alert and attentive to His people\u2019s needs (Psalm 121:3-4).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Was the keeper of His people, no matter what physical dangers they faced (Psalm 121:5-6).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Was the one who would help them through the spiritual dangers they faced (Psalm 121:7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Was the one that would keep them safe no matter where they were.\u00a0He promised to do this FOREVER (Psalm 121:8)!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The security that God gave Israel often made them confident.\u00a0Today\u2019s Christians can also realize the same assurance.\u00a0God promised never to leave or forsake His own.\u00a0If you are His own, you can rest knowing that you are safe in His hands.<br><em>\u201cLet your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.\u201d Hebrews 13:55<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Thought:&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\u201cLet the nail-pierced hands do the steering in your life, and you will be safe!\u201d&nbsp;\u2014 Author Unknown<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Words to Understand:<\/strong><br>Slumber: sleep<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Reading:<\/strong><br><em>Psalm 121<br>1 A Song of degrees.
