If it were not for His ability to forgive us of our sins, we would all be fearful of the eternity in the Lake of Fire that would await us.<br><em>\u201cWho forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;\u201d Psalm 103:3-4<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can receive that excellent gift of forgiveness not because of something we did or could do.&nbsp;We can receive God\u2019s gift only because He is merciful. Although He knows of our sins, He often forgives our wrongdoings and waives the repercussions we deserve. He can heal all that ask and trust of their sin-sickness (\u201c\u2026 who healeth all thy diseases\u2026\u201d \u2014 Psalm 103:3).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>God\u2019s forgiveness is all-encompassing. God:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Paid for (\u201credeemed\u201d) our sins with the shed blood of His only son, Jesus.\u00a0He did this so we could avoid eternal punishment due to an unforgiven sinner.<br><em>\u201cWho redeemeth thy life from destruction; \u2026\u201d Psalm 103:4<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can give undeserved mercy (Psalm 103:4b, 8, 17).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is gracious to us and does not always give us the punishment we deserve (Psalm 103:8, 10).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Often stops being angry at some (Psalm 103:9).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can put our sins far away from Him. Once He forgives us of our iniquities, they are as far away as the east is from the west. Those two compass points never meet, nor does our wicked past meet with God\u2019s judgment if we are saved (that is the only way God can forgive one of their sins).<br><em>\u201cAs far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.\u201d Psalm 103:12<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knows what we are made of and knows that we are weak (Psalm 103:14).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Christian, imagine standing in front of God and being reminded of ALL your unrighteousness.\u00a0That will never happen to a child of God.\u00a0We are forgiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Thought:&nbsp;<\/strong><br>\u201cHe who cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must one day travel for everyone needs to be forgiven.\u201d&nbsp;\u2014 Herbert<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Words to Understand:<\/strong><br>Chide: to rebuke; to correct<br>Mercy: \u201cThat benevolence, mildness or tenderness of heart which disposes a person to overlook injuries, or to treat an offender better than he deserves; the disposition that tempers justice, and induces an injured person to forgive trespasses and injuries, and to forebear punishment \u2026\u201d \u2014 American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828<br>Redeemeth: to give payment in order to receive or own something<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today\u2019s Reading:<\/strong><br><em>Psalm 103<br>1 A Psalm of David.
